North Carolina DUI Defense Law Lawyers Attorneys
North Carolina DUI Defense Attorneys
In North Carolina, operating a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol or other drugs may result in being charged with drunk driving.
Driving under the influence of alcohol, drunk driving, drinking and driving is commonly referred to as a DUI. In North Carolina, the North Carolina uniform summons will usually refer to the charge as DUI.
Another type of offense is a DUID. DUID is driving under the influence of drug(s) or a combination of alcohol and drugs. Regardless of whether you have been charged with a DUI or DUID, the penalties are very serious in North Carolina.
If you are convicted of drunk driving, the penalties you receive from the court are only the beginning. You stand to lose your job, pay an exorbitant rate for car insurance, lose your ability to drive either completely or have your driving privileges extremely restricted.
The courts have had a lot of pressure put on them lately to not give any kind of break to those charged with an offense where alcohol and driving are involved. These laws apply not only to automobiles, but also to boats and aircraft as well.
The Law Offices of SRIS, P.C. has an office in Loudoun County to better serve you.
If you wish to consult with one of our North Carolina DUI attorneys, please free to call us or contact us via our on line form.
The drunk driving statutes in North Carolina today call for a variety of standardized tests and scientific test to determine if the person who is charged with a DUI had a blood alcohol content over the legal limit.
The three main factors the courts uses to determine whether a person is guilty of a DUI is the officer’s observations of the accused at the time of offense, field sobriety tests (FSTs) and the intoxilyzer.
The current model is the Intoxilyzer 5000. The Intoxilyzer is used to determine a person blood alcohol content (BAC). Through out the entire United States, a BAC of .08% or higher is deemed to be an illegal if driving.
Drinking while driving is illegal in North Carolina. However, it is only illegal to drive after drinking if your BAC is higher than the legal limit.
If you are under the age of 21 and you drink and drive, even a BAC as low as .02% is enough to convict someone of drinking and driving.
The blood-alcohol limit for aircraft pilots is 0.04%, and for commercial drivers 0.04% or 0.05%, depending upon the jurisdiction.
Don’t wait until it’s too late to mount a defense. North Carolina DUI’s are nothing to fool around with. Get the right legal advice.

North Carolina Spousal Support Alimony Lawyers Attorneys
Spousal Support & Alimony in North Carolina
Spousal maintenance – alimony lawyers in North Carolina
Even in uncontested divorces in North Carolina, spousal maintenance may be awarded in a divorce or legal separation proceedings and may be subject to later modification or enforcement proceedings as well. Alimony is vital part of being able to move on after a divorce. Alimony is generally paid in installments over a period of time, (weekly or monthly, for example).
Spousal support is another term for alimony in North Carolina.
Regardless of the term used North Carolina, alimony is paid for a defined duration of time or until the death of one of the spouses or the remarriage of the recipient. What most people don’t realize is that alimony is taxable. The person paying the alimony deducts it as an above the line tax deduction. The person who receives alimony has to pay taxes on the amount of alimony received.
The Family Law Courts in North Carolina have enormous discretion when determining the appropriate alimony award and the duration of the alimony award.
Due to this uncertainty, most North Carolina divorce attorneys work hard towards trying to settle the issue of alimony without risking a trial on the issue of alimony. Our North Carolina divorce lawyers will work to help you get spousal support and when necessary, defend an action for alimony.

North Carolina Disorderly Conduct Drunk Public Defense Attorneys Lawyers
North Carolina Disorderly Conduct Defense Attorneys
There is virtually no state in the United States that does not have some form of law regarding disorderly conduct. This law is commonly described as a catch-all law. The disorderly conduct law in North Carolina prohibits people from being drunk in public, disturbing the peace, etc.
The law in North Carolina is designed to try and prevent people from making a nuisance of themselves in public. When a person is doing something that the police consider a nuisance in North Carolina, they usually charge the person with disorderly conduct.
What many people do not realize is that simply being a nuisance does violate the law of disorderly conduct as written in North Carolina. Therefore, people who are charged with disorderly conduct plead guilty without getting the assistance of an experienced criminal defense attorney.
Unfortunately, this results in the person being convicted of a crime that carries the possibility of jail time and a fine. Even if the person convicted of disorderly conduct does not receive jail, they will certainly receive a permanent mark on their criminal record. Do not let this happen to you.

How can a SRIS Law Group lawyer help you?
First and foremost, we will discuss your case with you. We will explain to you the different options you have and the pros and cons of each option. We do not require clients to come in and sit down and talk with us. Certainly, our clients are welcome to come in and talk with us. However, we understand that clients are very busy and may not have the time to come to the office. Therefore, we allow clients to consult with us by phone first and let the clients decide whether they need to come in and meet with their attorney. To learn more about how a SRIS Law Group lawyer can help you, please call us at 888-437-7747 and speak with a lawyer the same day.
