Deputies arrest 2, seize $12,000 in cash
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man and a woman and seized over $12,000 in cash after they were caught speeding on Interstate 95. Jamar M. Gathers, 27, of Ladson; and Ashley M. Heyward, 23, of Charleston, were both charged with possession of crack and speeding after Gathers was driving a Ford F-150 that reached speeds of 83 mph in a 70 mph zone.
