Man Tasered After Fleeing from Deputies
A deputy used a Taser on a man who refused to stop for a driver’s license checkpoint, then jumped out of his vehicle while it was moving and attempted to get away on foot. Timothy Wayne Jarvis, 35, of Lexington, was driving a white van on Old Wesley Chapel Rd. as he approached a driver’s license checkpoint at the road’s intersection with Swicegood Rd. A deputy had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit by the van, which did not stop. Jarvis was charged with driving with a revoked license, driving with an open container, careless and reckless driving, failure to heed blue lights and siren, resisting a public officer, felony fleeing to elude and assault on a government official. Jarvis was jailed under a $15,000 bond.
